I Thought I Only Had To Read Love Letters
연애편지만 읽으면 되는 줄 알았는데요
Synopsis
Eloise Moora, the daughter of a fallen noble family, lives her life working diligently. One day, she receives a secretive proposal.
It’s a job that involves reading love letters for a duke—an emotionally clueless, marriage-averse lifelong bachelor.
All she has to do is read love letters, or so she’s told, and she agrees for now… but what is this?
She’s nearly strangled after being mistaken for a spy, gets entangled with the crown prince and princess and ends up involved in affairs of the kingdom, and eventually even draws the hostility of a crown prince from another kingdom.
“Sometimes I imagine it. How happy I would be if I could breathe in the same space as Duke Kallen.”
“Wait a moment.”
At Kallen’s words, El looked at him.
‘Don’t tell me there’s something he didn’t understand just now? It was only one line… No way. Surely not…’
She shook her head, then widened her eyes as she looked at Kallen. He slightly furrowed his brows.
“I don’t understand that part you just read.”
“Which part? I just read, ‘How happy I would be if I could breathe in the same space as Duke Kallen.’ It’s just one line?”
“That part exactly. Breathing in the same space—what does that mean? Isn’t breathing something one always does?”
At Kallen’s question, El was left momentarily speechless.
One letter takes an hour to read…
Do I really have to keep doing this job?
